Okko The Exiled Walkthrough: Every Area in Order

This walkthrough follows the order of a complete no-commentary run of the full game (TheSavchynGames, “Okko The Exiled - Full Game Walkthrough”, uploaded on launch day). Area names are the ones that run’s chapters use. Timestamps let you jump straight to an area in that video if you are stuck on a section.

The developer describes the game as 12 core levels, each taking 20 to 60 minutes depending on skill, plus 20 small Underground challenge levels and some secrets. The run below splits the main path into 19 named areas, which include the boss stages. A Chinese-language reviewer describes the same structure as six big stages, each with two levels and a boss.

Before you set off

  • Disable Steam Input if you use a controller (why).
  • Learn heartbeat timing early. The first boss is where most players stall: only about a third had beaten it in launch week.
  • Between areas you return to The Old Throne, the hub. Buy upgrades, eat, talk to the residents and equip Pacts there (hub guide).

Only the stages named after a demon lord are marked. The other bosses (Sabaoth Guardian, Ravana, Sabaoth and The Blue Dawn) fall somewhere along the route; see the boss list for the fight order and its own timestamps.

Opening stretch: Forbidden Mountains to Asura Lake

The developer describes the main game as six zones, each a couple of stages plus a boss. The first zone (Forbidden Mountains and the stage after it, ending at the Sabaoth Guardian) is the same content the 2025 Steam demo covered, polished. The first areas teach the basics: stomping, launching enemies, bouncing off skulls with the down-attack, and Focus Mode. Things to get right here:

  • Find the hidden areas. The developer counted at least three secret areas on the first stage that a streamer walked straight past. Suspicious walls, a blue gem seal (open it with a heartbeat hit) and breakable furniture are the tells.

  • Collect the Deevols (five in the first stage) and the stage’s food ingredient; the world map shows both counters.

  • Start down-attacks early when you need a bounce. Launch players report going straight through skulls when the attack starts too close.

  • Use the first boss to practise the heartbeat. Sabaoth Guardian is the first full boss bar. Timed Focus hits do several times the damage of plain combos.

Beating the Sabaoth Guardian earns A Feast For Crows and gives you the Uppercut (aim up with the launch attack for extra height). A short dream sequence follows before you wake back at The Old Throne.

Asura Lake ends with Asura the Devourer. Carry a full Dragon Break bar into it.

Middle stretch: Coral Valley to Angra’s Throne

Four areas lead to Angra. By now you should be upgrading at The Old Throne between every stage. One player reports the dash unlocks after the third boss, which makes later platforming much easier. This is also where the Chinese-language reviews felt plain attacks fall off, so lean on Focus Mode.

Late stretch: Forest of Ashes to Indrac Shrine

The longest stretch on the route, with Path of the Petrified Saints the single longest area in the reference run (about 18 minutes even for a practised player). Indrac waits at the end; the achievement for that fight is called Electrifying.

Finale: Tower of the Traitor to the Temple of the Origin

Four more areas, then the two-form fight with Demon Lord Yalda: Yaldabaoth, Destroyer of Worlds and Yaldabaoth, The Demiurge. In launch week fewer than 5% of players had reached the credits. If you want 100%, finish the story first and then sweep for collectibles and the Underground (achievement plan).

If you get stuck

  • Check the fight on the boss list and watch the timestamp before your next attempt.
  • Spend your currency first so the death penalty costs less.
  • Swap Pacts: one that softens the death penalty makes repeated attempts cheaper.
